I bought this and 2 C100 models for the 3 Toto toilets I have in my house. The installation of both models was simple. The only difficulty was that two of the three did not have an electrical outlet nearby. Our family had become accustomed to the wet cleansing wipes which we learned was a hazard not only to our own waste lines, but to the city's sewer systems.

After a blockage that required an expensive cleanout, I decided to install these units to eliminate use of the wet wipes and to reduce the amount of toilet paper we use. We love these units and are very happy with the purchase. In Hawaii, they are so popular, the local Toto store was out of stock. Also, they were much more expensive. All three units arrived in great shape with all parts and instructions included. Although the expected delivery dates were initially about a month in the future, they arrived within a couple of weeks.

The C200 has a separate remote control but other than that, functionality is the same. If you have family members that get confused by tech gadgets, the C100 is the unit for you. If you have limited space around your toilet, then the C200 will require less space. Both are great products.

I bought three of these in September 2006, shortly after buying our home. One for the master bathroom, one for the kids bathroom, & one for the guest bathroom. About 6 months ago I noticed that the one in the master bathroom was not slow closing but banging shut. I hate working on toilets, so I let it slide until the irritation got to me. I checked the other two & the one in the kids bathroom was also into fast closing. The guest bathroom gets little use & it was still working like it did 7 years ago. So I ordered two replacements & installed them.

The plastic moldings were slightly different and the diameter of the metal shaft on the old ones was much smaller, so perhaps the nice people at TOTO made a few running changes to extend their life. One can only hope...

Five years ago, I purchased a TOTO Drake toilet with a soft close seat. We've been very pleased with both the toilet and especially the seat. The soft close feature is really nice, although sometimes I forget that not all toilets have soft close seats. While we never slam our toilet seat at home, sometimes we do elsewhere.

got the 2 most popular Toto plastic seats, plus tried about 7 from Lowes and home depot. The SS154-01 Traditional seat is 1.5" high, not including the top (2.5" w/ top). The SS114-01 Transitional is about 7/8" high (2" w/ top). They seam to work like any other soft closing lids in form of quietness while being closed.

I do like a favorite plastic 'Church toilet seat' sold at Lowes (model # 1720SLOW000) (has 36 reviews @ 4.40 stars total) for having the least amount of creaking noise when moving the seat from side-to-side in tests performed. The only negative is that the white is a hair not as brilliant-white as a toto toilet/ toilet seat (I have Drake II models). But, I've seen some last more than 5 years, so I know they are built well. Also, there is a plastic Bemis (model # 1584SLOWJ000) from Home Depot for $34.98 that has been out since Jan 2013 that has high reviews, and I have one in a bathroom (it has more opening space than the Church from Lowes, and sits more straight).

I give the SS154-01 FOUR stars versus the SS114-01 FOUR & A HALF stars and the Church seat from Lowes or Bemis from Home Depot FIVE stars. 4 stars for the SS154-01 Traditional, because of the way the seat Heavily curves into the toilet bowl (seat is highly concaved, not flat). I wish Amazon would let me download a picture of the two side-by-side for you. There is a big difference. It seams like my rear end wants to stay suspended on the higher outer part on the SS154-01, which feels a tad uncomfortable (like your not sitting all the way on the seat). This review goes against the total star ratings listed on Amazon by all reviewers, whom rated the SS154-01 higher (perhaps they did not test the two units for a week)

I never thought I'd be excited about a toilet, but this one has been a great buy for me. I purchased from another online retailer for less than offered here. Toilet was very easy to install for this average do-it-yourself homeowner. The great thing about this toilet is it can handle the bulk. I've had it for one year now and never had a problem compared to the toilet it replaced that would always clog up. Also, the sani-gloss finish makes cleaning a breeze. I'm very happy with it and plan to replace the other two toilets in my home with this model as well.
